BULLSEYE BULLETIN
AUGUST 2011

A Few Words from the MAC President…

Where has the summer gone? The kids are getting ready to go back to school and our last shoot of the year is at the end of the month.

The range closes on September 1st and we start focusing on this year’s hunting season. Some of our members will be traveling out west for some big game hunting before our season starts here in VA. Until then, we have the club awards banquet on September 10th to look forward to. This will be our 3rd Annual event, where the food is always great, there will be many door prizes to give away and also some items will be up for a silent auction. So come out to the banquet, bring your family, there is always some surprise awards and one might be for you.
Thanks, Wade

Have any photos or ideas you would like to see posted on our club web-site?  Please send me an email: macarchery@yahoo.com or call 540-683-0266.  Thanks, Gina

BULLSEYE BULLETIN
JULY 2011

A Few Words from the MAC President…

Our summer shooting schedule is almost over with just two more big 3D Shoots and about five Thursday Night 3D Shoots. Remember, you need at least three scores to qualify for 3D Shooter of the Year, which will be decided at the Greg Sisk Memorial, 3-Man Team Shoot on August 27th.

We just had our club annual and for the most part, I think it was a total success. I think everyone had fun, especially with the novelty shoots. Lewis Armstrong from Augusta Archers, was the big winner in the Iron Buck Shoot. Gina Nadzam, Charlie Wright and Dalton Jenkins were all winners in the Jug Shoot. Charlie Wright won the Long Shot competition with a 100 yard shot at a balloon. Jared Williams won the Coon Shoot by defeating JR Kirby in a shoot off.  And last but not least, Jayson Sealock won the TUFF-Man 3D shoot. Thanks to all that donated food, cooked, helped in the kitchen, registered shooters, set ranges and prepared the range for this shoot.  It was a total club effort and it was good to see so many involved in helping out.

Also in this newsletter, check out a new feature called Member Profile. This month’s member profile is Charlie Wright.

Thanks, Wade

A Few Words from the MAC President…

Outdoor season is fully underway and some really good shoots are coming up. Check out the "Upcoming Dates and Events" listed on the sidebar of the website. Thursday night 3Ds are having some great turnouts with paybacks almost every week.

Congratulations to Charlie Wright and Jared Williams for winning the 2-Man Unknown-Best Arrow 3D Shoot and to Jayson Sealock and Buck Higgins for winning the 2-Man Unknown ½ Spots- ½ 3D Shoot.

Thanks to all those that have helped out at the outdoor range the last couple months; Dave Robinson, Hunter Munson, Charlie Wright, Wayne East, JR Kirby, Gina Nadzam, Sean Pond and especially Jared Williams who set an excellent range for the ½ & ½ shoot.

Thanks, Wade

BULLSEYE BULLENTIN
Welcome Spring ~ April 2011 ~ Welcome Outdoors

A Few Words from the MAC President…
The winter and indoor season have come to an end. Congratulations go out to Zach Beaver, George Jenkins, Arthur Sommers and Charlie Wright for winning the Thursday league and Vance Cave, Greg Petefish, Ralph Santmyers and Charlie Wright for winning the Sunday league. Both championships were settled by a margin of 2-points or less. I would also like to thank those who donated food for the Sunday league championship, Tommy and Crystal Jenkins, Vance and Barbara Cave, Gina Nadzam and the Frenz family.

Now that indoor season is over it’s the start of our outdoor season. Thursday night 3D Shoots are back and we are paying back money as long as we have 10 shooters or more. Anyone interested in shooting an Outdoor Spot League this year, please contact me or sign up at the Outdoor Range pavilion. If we do not have much interest we will probably not have a league this year. Also, our first VBA Shoot was held on April 3rd with about 10 field shooters and 13 3D shooters. Thanks once again to all those that showed up for the work parties, getting our range in shape and ready for the season.

On another note, due to items disappearing from the Indoor Building, there is now a sign-in sheet posted inside the building. You must sign in and out if you use the indoor building. Exceptions to this include scheduled club meetings and shoots. If items continue to show up missing, members will lose their unlimited access.

Please plan to attend the May 6th meeting, there will be important matters discussed and all members are encouraged to attend.
Thanks, Wade

BULLSEYE BULLETIN
February 2011
A Few Words from the MAC President…
Hunting season is over; I hope everyone had a successful season. Remember to get me pictures of your archery harvests; you’ll be eligible for awards at our annual banquet later this year. We may also put them in the newsletter or on the website.

The results of the MAC Hunting Contests are in. The Biggest Buck by antler score went to Wade Colton with a 9-pointer. The Biggest Buck by weight with a 135 pound buck was Wade Colton. No one, believe it or not, entered any animals into the Biggest Doe Contest. Last but not least, the Most Squirrels Contest was won by Reece Hensley and Wade Colton with 101 squirrels, narrowly beating Dave Robinson and Zachery Lower by just 4 squirrels.

Indoor season is well underway with 12 teams on the Sunday League and 8 teams on the Thursday League. If you’re not on a team and would like to shoot, there are always open spots, so come on out for some indoor fun.

I’d like to welcome new members, Gene Clem, Clint Keller, Nataleigh Lower, Micah Frenz and Zachary Lower. Remember, membership renewals are past due, please get them in to Gina.

Thanks and Good Shooting, Wade
